Description | The first baseball games under NY rules were played on the then U. of Rochester campus, June 18 and August 5, 1858. This was located about where the U. or Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery now stands, 500 University Ave. The campus tract was then bounded by Prince (once Boody) on the west, College on the north, Goodman on the east, and Riley (from 1857, University) on the south.
The Flour City and Live Oak Clubs played there that year. |
