The Marshall County Republican [Plymouth, IN], May 28, 1868: "Local Brevities. A Base Ball Club has been organized in this place. The game was called town ball forty years ago." The team appears to have been short-lived. The same paper, July 22, 1869: "What has become of our base ball clubs that thrived and flourished last summer?"

Plymouth is west of Fort Wayne.
