Description | The Chicago Tribune, Dec. 7, 1865, reporting on the Northwest Base Ball Convention held in Chicago that day, notes delegates attending from the Wabash Club of Lafayette, IN and the Sinnissippie of Rockford, IL. According to the Lafayette Daily Journal, Jan 30, 1867, the WBBC was the city's first BBC, and had nearly 100 members at that time. Lafayette had 13,506 residents in 1870. |
