Description | The Indianapolis News, June 1, 1870 reports that this club formed May 30th with Joseph G. Pangborn as president. Same June 10, 1870 reports that the club is named the Indianapolis BBC. Same June 21, 1870 gives the box score of a game where they lost to the Fort Wayne Kekionga 40-27. Same Nov. 21 says this club incorporated with a capital stock of $15,000. It reads as if this club intended to compete with the openly professional clubs. The players are said to mostly be from the old Active club. Same, June 10, 1870. |
