Description | Mercantile Club grounds. Game played "in the rear of Girard College" The Philadelphia Inquirer, June 19, 1860 has an article on where the local clubs play, and says the Mercantile Grounds are at 19th and Columbia (now, Cecil B. Moore) Streets. This location is a bit north and east of Girard College. 19th and Columbia would be close to the "17th and Columbia" that Shiffert gives as he location of Camac Woods. |
