Description | Letter of Curtis Guild, born in Dedham in 1827, recalls playing "base" and "round" ball as a youth. Assuming his memory of playing round ball dated to when he was around 10 in 1837, his recorded memory would be nineteen years distant from what it described, a more recent recollection than Henry Sargent’s, see Note 43. |
