Description

The Alexandria Gazette, Aug. 18, 1866 announces that a team meeting will take place on Monday, Aug. 20, 1866 at 8:30 PM.  Location is identified as "their rooms".  The announcement is signed by T.S. Brookes, Team Secretary. The paper also reports that the team, which had been "lately organized" now had a "full complement of members." Their field is identified as "grounds in front of Colross, in the northwestern section of the city". (Gene Draschner)

The Alexandria Gazette, Nov. 7, 1866 reports that the Mt. Vernon Club of Alexandria will play the Jefferson Club of DC. Same, Nov. 10, 1866 has the Old Dominion Club beating the Mt. Vernon.

The Alexandria Gazette, Feb. 7, 1867, reporting on the state baseball convention, reports that the Old Dominion, Mt. Vernon, and Pioneer clubs of Alexandria attended.

Same July 3, 1867 mentions that Captain Keith Armistead is president of the club. This is Captain Walker Keith Armistead, CSA, son of General "Lo" Armistead, kia at Gettysburg.
