<p>The <em>Fremont Weekly Journal</em>, June 3, 1870 reports that the Cincinnati Red Stockings beat the Cleveland Blue Stockings 27-13 in Cleveland on Tuesday last. Says the Blue Stockings are one of the best clubs in the country.</p>
<p>Egan, "Base ball on the Western Reserve" says this was the 1870 nickname for the Forest City BBC.</p>
