Description The first match of which the full score has been preserved-- Kent v. All England--took place on the Artillery Ground, Finsbury (still the Headquarters of the H.A.C.), on June 18, 1744.Cricket was played prior to this. As early as circa 1611, a cricket match was recorded at Chevening in Kent between teams representing the Downs and the Weald. A code of Cricket rules was written in 1744.
