The Pacific Commercial Advertiser, Jan. 13, 1883, says that on Jan. 1st there was a baseball game between the Kahului and Wailuku teams, with Kahului winning.

Same, July 17, 1880 has the Wailuku BBC playing Spreckles Plantation.

Both towns are on the Island of Maui.

There may have been a baseball team in Wailuku as early as 1877. The Ka Lahui Hawaii, April 5, 1877 (a Hawaiian language newspaper) mentions the "Hekuawa [Valley] Base Ball Club" mai [near?] Wailuku.

Wailuku had 4,500 residents in 1866.
