Description | The Sterling Gazette, Nov. 19, 1870: "Coleta--The Twister Base Ball Club of Coleta have played five well matched games since their organization in September, and have been victorious in every game, and now claim the junior championship if Whiteside County." The Whiteside Chronicle June 15, 1871 gives the box score of a game between the Twisters of Coleta and the Olympics of Morrison, won by the former 92-17. Coleta had a population of 163 in 1880. |
