Description

The Chicago Tribune, Oct. 4, 1870, reports that the Prairie club defeated the Transit Club 17 to 15.

This club was made up of Stock Yard employees. Same, Aug. 22, 1870.

Same, Dec. 2, 1870 reports that the Aetnas (the city amateur champs) beat the Transits 36-12 on Sept. 8th. The Chicago Inter Ocean, Sept. 9, 1870 reports this game was at Ogden Park, for the city amateur championship, and that few people attended. The attendees didn't seem to care who was the city amateur champion.
