Sources	Persons desirous of forming a base ball club are requested to meet at the depot building Friday evening, at 8 o'clock. -The Loyal Missourian (California, Mo.), June 6, 1867 The young gentlemen of our city have caught the Base Ball fever, and have inaugurated a Club, and prepared the grounds for their exercises. -The Central Missourian (California, Mo.), July 13, 1867 On Saturday, August 3d, a very interesting game of base ball was played between the Star and California Base Ball clubs, of this city, which ended in the latter winning the game [by a score of 114-24; see box score]. -Central Missourian (California, Mo.), August 10, 1867
