Description | The Wayne County Press, July 10, 1868 reports that on the 4th of July, at Leech's Mill, the Fairfield Snails defeated the Lookouts (?) 108-60. Same Sept. 25, 1868 mentions the Snails are to play the Fairfield Terrapin. Fairfield had 719 residents in 1870. Leech's Mill was in Leech Township, Wayne County, east of Fairfield on the Little Wabash River. |
