| Description | Per Morris et al., "Baseball Founders," the Pastime Club's grounds were the old Long Island cricket club grounds. Those grounds are described in the New York Clipper, June 14, 1856, as being near the Three Mile House on Fulton Ave. in what was then Bedford. The Three Mile House of Charles B. Holder was a well known inn, situated on Fulton Ave,. around what is now New York and Brooklyn Avenue, Brooklyn. This is near where the modern Prescott School is, whose address is given above. Holder's son John played for the Excelsiors and Atlantics of Brooklyn. |
