Description

On North Clark St.,  between Whitney and Chestnut streets, south of the modern Newberry Library.

Old images of the area adjoining Washington Square Park (which was said to be 2.25 acres in 1891) can be found in Protopix, for the Unity Church and Ogden mansion, both of which adjoined the square.

Comment

The 1868 "Guide to Chicago" pp. 121 says Washington Park is about 3 acres, and bounded by Chestnut, Clark and Dearborn.
