Description | The Colorado Daily Chieften [Pueblo], June 18, 1874: "Base Ball. The first game of the match between the Olympic base ball club of Trinidad and the Valley base ball club of this city took place on Wednesday afternoon at the grounds of the latter club, on the south side of the river." The Valley club won 61 to 9, in part because 3 of the Olympic regulars didn't show up. Trinidad was incorporated as a city in 1879. |
