Description | The Chicago Tribune, Sept. 19, 1866, says the Monitor and Dexter base ball clubs will play today. The Chicago Tribune May 15, 1867: "Base Ball. General Meeting--The National Game." Among the Chicago clubs mentioned are the Excelsior, Atlantic, Garden City, Weldon, Excelsior Jr., Resolutes, Monitors, Comets, Chicago and Amateurs. The Indianapolis Daily Herald, June 15, 1866 reports the Monitor are to play the Atlantic Jrs. at the Monitor's grounds, corner of Harmon Court (today, 11th Street in the south Loop) and Michigan Avenue. |
