Comment | The Tribune June 10 and June 13 reports match game(s) of this club (without giving scores). Two games, or one? The Tribune June 10 said the game was to be played "below F. R. E. Cornell's residence," a 10 minute carriage ride from the Nicollet House. Judge Francis R. E. Cornell's residence in 1867 and thereafter was at 8th and Lake (8th St. and 14th Ave south). That location is today a few blocks east of Elliot Park, just east of Studio Eight, and about where 35W and US 94 intersect. Judge Cornell's residence was near the St. Elizabeth German Catholic Church. The judge's son Frank was a ballplayer. Edit with form to add a comment |
