Description | The Tampa Journal, Oct. 4, 1888 reports that the Layton BBC (renamed the Tampa BBC after the game) played the Porvenirs of Ybor City. A report of the return game, in Ybor City, is in the same, Oct. 18, 1888. The Porvenirs were the Cuban local club, the Laytons the Anglo club. Ybor City was and is a neighborhood in Tampa, historically Cuban. |
