On Aug. 18, 1860, the Young America club was scheduled to play the Independent Club of Chicago. Chicago Tribune, Aug. 17, 1860. Same, Oct. 12, 1869, has the Gazelles of Evanston beating the Independents of Chicago 50 to 15, in Evanston Oct. 9th.  The Chicago Tribune Aug. 9, 1860 says their grounds are at the corner of 12th and Rucker Sts.
