Description | The Tarboro Southerner, June 18, 1868 reports that the Enterprise Base Ball Club is to meet soon. Charles J. Austin is the president of the club--the same man who organized the Rip Van Winkle club in 1867. This club might be the successor of the RVW. In 1867 the same newspaper reported that the city club had changed its name to the Enterprise. |
