Description	The St. Louis Daily Missouri Democrat, Sept. 14, 1868 reports that the Defiance of East St. Louis defeated the Athletic Jr. of St. Louis 47-45 "yesterday afternoon" at "Gallagher's Pasture." Same, July 7, 1869 reports that the Pacific Club of St. Louis played the Defiance Club of East St. Louis, in a game stopped by rain in the 4th inning. [ba] Base ball last Sunday was rather dull - there being only two games played in the city. The "picked nine" and the "East St. Louis" had a contest in which the former came out victorious, the score standing - "picked nine" 44; "East St. Louis" 42. The other game was played between the "East St. Louis, jr," and the "Defience." The former club won by 6 runs. EStL Gazette, May 30, 1874
