Description

The Dover (NH) Gazette, Oct. 27, 1860, prints a letter from a member of the Lightfoot Club of Northwood, about playing base ball in Barrington. Mentions clubs of Barrington, Somersworth, Deerfield, Stratford Ridge, Farmington, Bow Lake Village and Rochester.

Somersworth was also known as Great Falls. The New Hampshire Statesman, July 14, 1860 reports that Great Falls has a base ball club with 47 members.

The town had a population of 4,787 in 1860.
