Description	Ackerley, Early History of Baseball in Knox College, pp. 39-40, citing Seymour vol. 3 p. 139 and Muelder's Knox College, says that in 1867 the College City Club of Galesburg played Monmouth College's "Classic" Club. See Monmouth College Clipper, June 1, 1867 for more on this 2 game series, won by the Galesburg team 74-25 and 37-24. The latter game is reported in the Monmouth Atlas, June 14, 1867 The Monmouth College Courier, June 1, 1868 reports that the Classic Club of the College defeated the city's Clippers by 11 runs.
