Peter Morris et al., editors, "Base Ball Pioneers. 1850-1870" p. 222 says the Byron BBC was founded in 1866.

According to the Rockford Register, Sept. 9, 1922, the early games were played just north of "the Old Masonic Bloc." The team included James S. Barry, Ezra H. Evans, Joseph H. Hunt, Edwin A. Irvine, William H. Mix, Morris P. Osborn, William Ballard Osborn, Nahum F. Parsons, David W. Spaulding (cousin of Albert G.), and Garret C. Stires. Stires and Ballard Osborn played for Rockford's Forest City club starting in 1868.

The team lost to Frost City 59-4 in 1867 and 43-25 in 1868.
