The Fort Wayne (IN) Daily Gazette, Aug. 27, 1866, reports on a game in Fort Wayne between the Kekionga of Fort Wayne and the Enterprise club of Sidney, Ohio, umpired by Mr. Woodward of the Buckeye Base Ball Club of Dayton, Ohio.

The Cincinnati Daily Gazette, May 31, 1867, reports that next Saturday at Dayton the Buckeyes of Cincinnati will play the Buckeyes of Dayton.

The Dayton Daily Empire, July 7, 1866 reports on a game "yesterday" between the Buckeyes of Dayton and the Sterlings of Piqua, at the Fairgrounds.

Dayton OH had a 1860 pop. of about 20,000 and an 1870 count of about 30,500. It was the nation's 45th largest city in 1860.
