Description	The Effingham Democrat, June 6, 1878: "Olney has reorganized its base ball club and thinks it has the best club in southern Illinois." Same June 13, 1878 mentions the Olney Blue Stockings are to play the Fearless of Effingham "tomorrow." Same June 20, 1878 (under the headline "Base Ball") reports that the Olney Blue Stockings lost 18-7 to the Fearless, but beat the Germans of Effingham 19-9. Same July 25, 1878 reports that the two Effingham clubs above went to Olney for return matches. The St. Louis Globe Democrat, July 20, 1878, reporting on this trip, says that the Fearless lost their first game of the season 10-8 to Olney on July 19th, and that the Germans had lost to Olney the day prior.
