| Text | "In the street, in front of [Hiram College] President Hinsdale's (which was then Mr. Garfield's house), is the ground where we played wicket ball; Mr. Garfield was one of our best players." The school was then the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute. It became Hiram College in 1867. |
