Description | The Arlington Heights Cook County Herald, June 22, 1917 reports the Shermerville baseball team defeated the Glenview team 8 to 1 Sunday. Same June 6, 1919 has Shermerville beating Glenview 6-5. And Glenview beating Niles, 10-7, on Decoration Day. The pitcher for Glenview was Ed Rugen, of the town's founding Rugen family. Glenview was founded in 1895, and incorporated in 1899. A photo of this early Glenview team is in the 1899-1974 History of Glenview. |
