New York Herald, May 4, 1869: "The National Game..... A base ball club has been organized in Dresden, Saxony, by a number of young Americans, and the Saxons seem to take to the sport with a gusto. Dresden is in Saxony--in 1869, a separate kingdom, today, a state in Germany.
