Text | The (Madison, Dane County) Wisconsin State Journal, Aug. 25, 1859, reports on a cricket match at the State Fair Grounds between two local teams, the Madison and the Washington. This appears to be the first mention of cricket in Madison. A Dane County CC is mentioned in the Wisconsin Tribune, Nov. 3, 1853 as plaing an Iowa County CC, with the Dane club having been in existence 2 years. |
