Description	The Daily Illinois State Journal, June 5, 1867: "State News... Girard has a base ball club, composed of twenty two members, embracing some of our first citizens..." This is probably the Phi Kappa Club of Girard, which played the Athletics of Carlinville that month. See Carlinville Democrat, June 20, 1867. The rematch, at Girard, was won by the Athletics 96-87.
