Description | The Chicago "Workingman's Advocate," June 10, 1871 reports that on June 1 at "Parlor Grove," North Evanston, at a union picnic, the nine of the "Knights of St. Crispin" defeated the Molders 19-13 in a 5 inning game. North Evanston, the area around Central Street, was annexed by Evanston in 1874. Parlor Grove was a popular picnic area. |
