Description | A game described in 1845 as another name for town ball, and played in North Carolina with an all-out-side-out rule. There is not conclusive evidence that Old Hundred is or was a safe-haven ballgame. However, one North Carolina writer saw it as a "variety of baseball" as played in the 1840s: see chronology entry 1840c.33. |
