Description

The Milledgeville Southern Recorder, April 11, 1871, reports that a bbc has recently been formed. Same April 18, 25, 1871 reports on a game between the "Old Capital Club" and a picked nine of Milledgeville. The game was played on the OC grounds, "on the river bottom, near Treanor's Mill." Gives a box score.

Treanor's Mill is on the river, just north of the bridge. It's brickwork can still be seen from the bridge.

Milledgeville was the state capitol 1804-68. It had 2750 residents in 1870.
