Description | The first game of the Independents of Mansfield was Sept. 12, 1866, "near the depot on East 4th Street." Research suggests that this train depot was between 3rd and 4th Streets, near the Strong grain elevator (96 E. 4th) and the Thornton Hotel. See Mansfield News Journal, Dec. 4, 14, 1912. This would place it about 4th and Elm. |
