The Janesville Gazette, Aug. 7, 1876, reports in its "Base Ball" column: "Minooka, Ill., Aug. 6--The Minooka Centennial and the Mound Citys, of Joliet, played a match game of base ball at Minooka Saturday." Minooka won 16 to 12.
