The article notes how Durango's fans whined about the game and refused to pay their bets. The headline, in the florid style of the time, reads: "Durango's Waterlo. No Blucher Comes to the Rescue. The Durango Nine Overwhelmingly Defeated by a Score of 25 to 6." Durnago, CO was established in 1881. It is probable that Durango had a baseball team prior to 1892, as the Silverton Standard, May 10, 1890, has the Silverton team looking for games with (inter alia) Durango.
