Description | The Sparta (WI) Eagle, July 17, 1867: A letter from the La Crosse Democrat says Sparta "has a good base ball club--the Eagle Club. It is a new organization and came near to beating the Intrepids of this city, on the 4th, but did not." An Intrepid Club, juniors, is mentioned in the Chicago Tribune, Sept. 5, 1867, as playing in a baseball tournament in Beloit. |
