The Washington National Republican, May 28, 1867 reports that 8 DC clubs met to form a picked team to play the Nationals. The attempt failed. 

Attending were the Jefferson, Potomac, Union, Empire, Gymnastic, Continental, Olympic and Interior Clubs.

The Gymnastic played the Grafton soon after (same July 1, 1867).
