The Oquawka Spectator, Oct. 17, 1867 reports that the Oquawka BBC took the $25 prize at the Henderson County Agricultural Society Fair in Biggsville, defeating the Black Crooks of Young America 37-27.

The Monmouth Evening Gazette July 12, 1886 reports that the Biggsville Clippers played Oquawka in Biggsville, on Saturday.

The town had 1370 inhabitants in 1870.
