Comment | This club was formed after the New Dominion Club of Ottawa folded in 1869. Some players from the New Dominion Club went on to play for the Ottawa Base Ball Club, such as Tom and Harry Cluff and Robert Lang, who was the new team's president in 1871.
A letter in the July 28, 1871 edition of the Ottawa Times notes that the New Dominion Club folded after they were "unable to continue to practice on account of the grounds on which we played being subdivided and sold, and our club became defunct." (Ottawa Times, July 28, 1871, page 2). |
