 The St. Paul Daily Globe, July 22, 1888 reports the Brookings Fire Department played the Pipestone (MN) Fire Dept. in "a match game of base ball" at the July 21st Fireman's Tournament in Pipestone.

Brooking is today the 4th largest city in SD. It was funed in 1879, and had 1518 residents in 1890.
