Description

The Chicago Chronicle, Nov. 27, 1896, in an article on the Glenwood Manual Training School, notes that the boys play baseball. Same, Chicago Inter Ocean, Aug. 23, 1903.

The school was founded in Glenwood in 1887. 

What's now Glenwood, in southern Cook County, was originally named Hickory Bend. Glenwood was incorporated in 1903, and had 581 residents in 1910.
