"Base Ball. Messrs. Editors: A match game of base ball was played between the "Young Southern" and the "Trix" yesterday evening, and the following is the way the score stood: For the Young Southern, 50, and for the Trix, 14. The Young Southern is the most successful little club in the city. It has never once been beaten. This is my first report. Charley. Nov. 13, 1868."

Even though this report clearly states that the Young Southerns had never been beaten, the Trix club had defeated them the previous month, 19-15.

Earlier in the year, the Trix of North Nashville played the Trix of South Nashville for the right to use that name.
