Akin, "West Virginia Baseball: A History, 1865-2000" p. 10 says the Harpers Ferry Valley BBC organized in 1867. The Shepherdstown Register, Nov. 10, 1866 reports on an upcoming game between the Scientific of Shepherdstown and the Valley Club of Harper's Ferry. Harpers Ferry WV is about 25 miles S of Hagerstown MD.
