Description

The Toronto Globe says that in 1859 the "Canadian Pioneers" BBC were playing baseball at the University of Toronto grounds. See New York Times, Oct. 19, 1992

The University of Toronto was founded in 1827. It is located north of downtown, bounded by College, Bay, Bloor and Spadina Streets.

In the 1870s the Dauntless Club played their games at the Toronto Cricket Club. The first pro team there played at the Jarvis St. grounds, nw corner of Jarvis and Wellesley.
