Description | The Mobile Daily Times, June 14, 1867 reports that the Sunny South BBC just formed, electing Samuel Lowe as president and A. Proskauer Jr. as scorer and director. The latter was undoubtedly Confederate Major Adolph Proskauer, (1838-1900) a prominent Jewish Confederate. From the names of those elected, the club appears to be heavily German/Jewish. |
