Description	The Portland Oregonian, Feb. 22, 1868 notes that this club helped form a Ore-WA baseball association. Same, June 6, 1862 reports the Spartans will play "this afternoon." Same, July 22, 1868 has this Spartan Club defeated by the Athletics of Portland. Eberle, "Baseball Takes Root in Oregon, 1867- 1869" says this club existed in 1867, and its players were formerly of the Wide-Awake BBC. The 1869 Portland City Directory, p. 21 says the Spartan club was org. Aug. 1, 1867
